GolfRomeGa.com came about long before it was
actually implemented.
Joedy McGraw has worked in the golf business
since 1996. During his first 8 years, Joedy
worked as a club professional where his
responsibilities included managing daily golf
shop operations, merchandising, tournament
planning and organization, and teaching
individual and group lessons and clinics. The
clubs he has served include The University of
Georgia Golf Club, Chattahoochee Country Club,
and here locally at
Coosa Country Club,
and Horseleg Country Club.
In 2005, Joedy began working in golf course
maintenance and spent several years at
Cherokee Golf & Country Club in
Cedartown, Georgia before becoming Head
Superintendent of
BEAA Country Club
in Rome in late 2011. In the summer of 2013,
Joedy moved back to Cherokee Golf & Country Club
to serve as a golf professional and pro shop
manager. A year later, Joedy moved back to
BEAA as general manager/superintendent,
overseeing the day-to-day operations of the club
as well as the maintenance of the golf course.
Jarratt
Bryan first picked up a golf club while he was
in college at Florida State University.
Once he graduated and moved to LaFayette, Ga., a
lack of money and time curbed his addiction and
passion for the game. It wasn't until the
summer of 2008 when his then 9-year-old son
Jonathan wanted to emulate his "Paw Paw" and
play golf himself. A year later, Jonathan
got his own clubs and has been swinging for the
greens ever since. Jarratt and his wife April
now follow Jonathan to tournaments in the
Atlanta and Rome areas most every weekend.
When he gets a chance, Jarratt plays golf
himself, although it's clear Jonathan didn't
inherit his talent from his father...
In 2000, Jarratt
opened his home-based business
The Digital Pen. Initially, he focused
on
building websites. While he still does
this for a select clientele, his primary focus
is on
restoring damaged photographs,
creating
DVD slideshows and
photo collages, and
transferring VHS tapes to DVD.
Jarratt met Joedy back in late 2009 when Joedy
became Jonathan's golf coach. When Joedy
broached the subject of a Rome, Ga. golf
website, the two began working on ideas and
plans. In the summer of 2011, those plans
became a reality! |
