Big Weekend for Local Junior Jonathan Bryan
Local
junior Jonathan
Bryan placed 3rd in a US Kids Golf event
Saturday, then qualified for the AJGA Skills
Challenge Championship on Sunday.
Saturday saw Jonathan, 12, card a 91 at
Mystery Valley Golf Club in Lithonia,
Georgia in the 6th event of the
US Kids Golf Atlanta Spring Local Tour.
The score was good enough for a 3rd place finish
in the 12 year-old boys division and keeps him
in 4th place overall for the tour. He's
looking forward to next week's event on Mother's
Day at
TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth.
On
Sunday, he competed in the
Atlanta Junior Golf Association's Skills
Challenge Series at the
Oaks Course in Covington, Georgia.
This challenge included chipping, putting, and
driving. Of the 165 points possible,
Jonathan scored 105. This gave him not
only the most points of the 12 others in his
division, but the highest overall on the day.
The top two point earners in each age division
will compete for the championship held at
Heritage Golf Links in Tucker on August 12.
Last summer, Jonathan earned Tournament Champion in the
10-11-year-old division in the
2011 Rome Junior Golf Tournament.
