All in all it was a good weekend to be playing
golf at the
BEAA Country Club.
Thirty-four of the 38 teams all finished under
par, but no one could catch the team of Martin
Ball and Ladell Norton.
Once again Ball and Norton showed why they have
been two of the best golfers around Rome for a
long time. However, the win didn't come easy as
it took three playoff holes to out-last the team
of Matt Rogers and Frank Brady. To win the
Championship Flight, Ball made a 25 footer for
birdie! Both teams finished regulation play at
123 (-21).
The team of Joe Holbrook and Steve Horne
captured 3rd place by winning on their first
playoff hole against John Bailey and Scott King.
Both teams finished regulation play at 125
(-19).
In the Championship B Flight Jason Kadum and
Frank Jones Jr. took first place with a 127
(-17) just ahead of Mark Green and Kim Nichols
who shot a 128 (-16). Coming in third was Brad
Crowe and Mark Burchette with a 130 (-14).
In the first flight it was John Kendrick and
Drew Murray taking first with a 135 (-9). Jim
Yarbourgh and David Taylor, who shot a 137 (-7),
claimed second after a scorecard backup over
Phil Donehoo and Ben Chapman who also shot 137
(-7).
In the second flight Chad Naugher and Shawn Snow
took first with a 137 (-7) over the team of
Holly Gaston and Ann Perry who shot a 139 (-5).
Finishing in third place was the team of Adam
Wickham and Lee Morgan at 139 (-5).
